St Patricks' NS making waves!
Our trips to Graigcullen swimming pool resumed on Monday, 9th September.  Ninety-nine children from First Class to Sixth Class,  travelled to Carlow to take part in group swimming lessons.
Classes are €7 per week per chilld with a reduction for siblings. Places are filled on a first come, first served basis so it is advisable to book your places early.
Learning to swim is not only a very important life skill but is also a very enjoyable form of exercise.  It is our hope that as many children as possible will have the chance to attend over the coming weeks.

Here at St. Patricks' NS, as well as encouraging academic and sporting success, we also value and nurture creative interests.
We have introduced a "Yard Art" programme where the the children are welcome to use chalks in a large designated area. Their efforts are very eye-catching. This activity is excellent for motor skills and is also therapeutic for some children.  It is also proving to be an excellent social event and children from all classes are working together.
We hope to introduce some other activities in the coming weeks in this area such as giant board games, hula hoops etc.

Did you know that it takes about 500 years for plastic straws to decompose!!
